Public Health

World Tuberculosis Day, observed annually on 24 March, raises global awareness about tuberculosis (TB), an infectious disease that remains a major public health concern worldwide. Despite being preventable and curable, TB continues to affect millions of people each year, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.

As part of IPSF’s EMRO commitment to cancer awareness, prevention, and early detection, and in collaboration with the RMPS team, the RPS team is launching a Poster Competition open to members of the IPSF EMRO. This initiative aims to encourage creativity, scientific accuracy, and advocacy in addressing cancer-related topics relevant to our communities.

IPSF EMRO and IPSF AfRO are committed to strengthening public health awareness across their regions. This collaborative campaign is a proactive initiative to address Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), a group of preventable and treatable conditions that continue to pose a significant public health burden.

This campaign aims to raise awareness among the general public and pharmacy students about seasonal influenza, the importance of immunization, and the difference between transient and resident germs. The campaign seeks to promote preventive health behaviors, correct common misconceptions about flu vaccines, and highlight the role of hygiene in reducing the spread of infectious diseases.
